The State of Public Education

by Sam Petty

The State of Public Education was held on Thursday, November 5th and hosted by the Fort Worth Chamber. The Fort Worth Chamber is committed to providing a bridge between local businesses and the surrounding school districts and learning institutions in order to ensure that our homegrown talent is prepared with the skills they need to perform the jobs of tomorrow.

Listen in as we hear from educational leaders, Dr. Kent Paredes Scribner, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent, Dr. Rick Westfall, Keller ISD Superintendent, and Chancellor Eugene Giovannini, Tarrant County College, moderated by Mattie J. Parker, J.D., CEO of Cradle to Career.

This conversation highlights:

- How the districts and TCC are dealing with COVID-19 and what the future holds for both in-person and virtual learning

- How businesses can help shape the curriculum for students based on needs

- Programs and opportunities that link the business community to learning institutions

- Workforce gaps and how to address them
