What is a T3 "Last Dollar" Scholarship?

OVERVIEW: The T3 Last Dollar Scholarship covers any remaining tuition costs after all Pell grants and/or other federal, state, or institutional aid have been applied. In other words, last dollar scholarships cover the gap -- any last dollars needed to cover the student's tuition. See below for student eligibility and participating partners. Eligible students who are awarded the T3 Last Dollar scholarship may continue receiving funding for up 8 consecutive semesters or the completion of a degree.

Housing, books, and other fees are not included*. (*Unless otherwise noted by the college you are attending).

Last Dollar Scholarship Student Requirements

2024-2025 Student Eligibility

  • Complete all T3 Pledge Requirements throughout High School
  • Graduate from a Participating ISD High School
  • Apply to a T3 Partner College/University by the Deadline (*NOTE: dates vary by college)
  • Complete FAFSA or TASFA & Required Verification Documents by Deadline (varies by college/university)
  • Be Eligible to Receive Funds Through Federal Pell Grant or Texas Grant Programs (*Not required for TCC Last Dollar)
  • Be a Resident of Tarrant County for Tuition Purposes if Attending TCC & a Texas Resident if Attending a Partner University
  • If Attending TCC, Register for a Minimum of 9 Credit Hours; if Attending a Partner University, Register for a Minimum of 12 Credit Hours Each Semester (fall and spring)
  • Complete the T3 Onboarding Program by July 31 (graduating seniors will receive more information via email)
  • Enroll in classes by July 31 (students must start classes the Fall semester immediately following high school graduation)

Last Dollar Income Requirements

Students must meet the following income requirements according to the FAFSA/TASFA application they submit before their first year in college. Students will be notified by the college they are attending if they are financially eligible to receive T3 Last Dollar.

What is a T3 "First Dollar" Scholarship?

OVERVIEW: The T3 First Dollar Scholarship is $250 a semester ($500 per year) that may be used on any academic or emergency related expenses, applied before any other financial aid is applied and funds are disbursed directly to the student, not through your university. In other words, first dollar scholarships come first and the amount does not change even if you receive other state, federal, or institutional aid. Eligible students who are awarded the T3 First Dollar scholarship may continue receiving funding for up 8 consecutive semesters or the completion of a degree.

T3 First Dollar Scholarships are only available at 4-year Partner Universities -- TCU, UTA, Tarleton, Texas Wesleyan, Texas Woman's, UNT (Denton) and UNT Dallas. First Dollar Scholarship Student Requirements

2024-2025 Student Eligibility

T3 First Dollar Scholarships are only available at T3 4-year partner universities -- UTA, Tarleton, TCU, Texas Wesleyan, Texas Woman's, UNT (Denton) and UNT Dallas. T3 First Dollar Scholarships are awarded to T3 Scholars who:

  • Complete all T3 Pledge Requirements throughout High School
  • Apply to a T3 4-Year Partner College/University by the Deadline (*NOTE: dates vary by college)
  • Complete FAFSA or TASFA & Required Verification Documents by Deadline (varies by college/university)
    • If completing the FAFSA -- Must be eligible for the Pell Grant
    • If completing the TASFA -- Meet Family Income Thresholds as outlined below
  • Attend a T3 Scholarship Information Session the Spring/Summer before you begin college classes. Eligible students will receive invite details via email/text and are responsible for registering
  • Have a bank account in your name (Need Support? Check out T3's Banking Resources)
  • Enroll in classes by July 31 (students must start classes the Fall semester immediately following after high school graduation)

First Dollar Income Requirements

As of Spring 2024...

If a student applies for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students must be eligible for the Pell Grant according to the FAFSA application they submit before their first year in college. Click here to learn more about Pell Grant eligibility.

If a student applies for the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA), students must meet the following income requirements according to the TASFA application they submit before their first year in college.

All graduating high school Seniors who have successfully taken the T3 Pledge will be required to complete the T3 Financial Form so T3 may determine financial eligibility for the T3 First Dollar Scholarship.
